![]() I definitely bet you many PC owners of Elden Ring will do the same in January. And arguably they still feel the best that way to play as soon as you're done downloading the title. Seriously, go on twitch and I bet you they are playing them (Dark Souls II especially) this way since the devs initially developed for controllers first. There's a huge and at least a healthy amount of PC players who played/streamed PC versions of games like Fromsoftware titles using controllers today.even right freaking now. ![]() I argue that's not the case anymore and you might be surprised by how many that default to controller today on PC. I'm sure you can make the controls workable (just as you could in world) but the fact that they specifically "advertised" the controls boggles the mind. As for your actual topic, yeah they're pretty bad. And no, type 2 controls aren't the solution (bows get Dragon Piercer on R2. Oh, you want to swap from melee to ranged (or the other way around) after a long time? Have fun re-learning part of the controls because suddenly wirebugs use a totally different button and you can no longer hold R to sheathe directly into a sprint. Is it really so bad to have intuitive controls? Why the hell can't there be any consitency to wirebug attacks for example? Many weapons have wirebug moves that act as a counter (Serene Pose, Shoryugeki, Guard Edge and so on) but there is no consistency in whether they use L2+X or L2+A. That's a complaint I have with Rise in general. The whole games control scheme changes completely depending entirely on what weapon you use Moderators reserve the right to manually approve/disprove posts based on how it affects the quality or state of the sub.
